The Maranatha Covenant Marriage Conference, founded in 2011 by Dr. Reverend Edwin Msigaro and Mama Victoria Msigaro in Peoria, has continued to serve as an important platform for strengthening the covenant of marriage among couples in the diaspora.
The main objective of the conference is to support and equip couples living abroad so they can strengthen their marital relationships and promote unity within diaspora families. Organizers say strong families serve as a powerful example for the next generation of children and even grandchildren growing up in diaspora communities.
Speaking to The Diaspora Magazine, the host of the conference Pastor Catherine Abihudi announced that this Saturday, March 14, 2026 at 8:00 PM Central Time, there will be a special online session via Zoom and YouTube. The session will provide detailed information about the upcoming conference and highlight this year’s theme, “Relentless Love.”
Pastor Catherine also noted that the 2026 conference will mark the 15th anniversary since the founding of the Maranatha Covenant Marriage Conference. The event is scheduled to take place from April 10 to April 12, 2026 at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Chicago in Chicago.
She encouraged those planning to attend to register early, noting that the registration fee is $120 USD. Participants who require hotel accommodation are also advised to complete their room bookings before March 15, 2026.
Speaking about the target audience of the conference, Pastor Catherine explained that the event primarily focuses on Tanzanians and Africans living in the diaspora, as well as the second generation of diaspora families who are now married or building families within different cultural environments around the world.

“The primary audience is the diaspora, but now we are also reaching the second generation of diaspora families. The conference was started by pioneers like the Msigaro family, but today their children have families of their own, and so do we. Our children are now marrying into different cultures,” she said.
She added that the conference is open to everyone, regardless of race or background, emphasizing that the goal is to build and strengthen marriages and families. In addition to teaching sessions and seminars, organizers have planned a Chicago Tour for participants traveling from outside the city. The tour will allow couples to explore major attractions in Chicago, take memorable photos, and learn about the city’s history.
On Saturday evening, participants will also enjoy a special dinner event, accompanied by professional photos for each couple attending the conference. For those unable to attend in person, the conference will also be broadcast live online. However, organizers emphasized that online participants must still register in order to receive the link to join the seminar.
The official conference announcement also includes a QR code that allows people to join a dedicated WhatsApp group, where they can access full conference details, the complete program schedule, and registration information.
